Reeves Floats Plan to Give UK Regions Say Over Tax Funds (1)

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves said she is drawing up plans to give regional leaders in the UK control of some national tax revenues as part of her push to raise economic growth across Britain.

“I have asked my officials to work with mayors and businesses to develop a road map for future fiscal devolution to be published at this year’s budget,” Reeves said at the annual Mais lecture at the Bayes Business School in London on Tuesday. “They will look at income tax alongside other taxes.”
