South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is tapping private-sector digital forensics expertise as it seeks to boost an investigation into an overhaul of the country’s tax agency under former President Jacob Zuma, the Johannesburg-based Sunday Times said.
The authority has brought in Facts Consulting to assist with the probe into the role played by Bain & Co in the restructuring of the South African Revenue Service (SARS) that resulted in the ousting of senior staff and gutting of its investigative capacity, the weekly said, citing NPA spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.
