UK Tax Moves Have Caused Wealthy to Leave, Minister Acknowledges

Wealthy people have quit Britain partly due to tax rises by Keir Starmer’s Labour government, a UK minister said at the start of a week in which further levies are expected to be imposed on high-earners and the owners of expensive properties.

“I’m not going to duck the fact that we have put up taxes and we’ve closed some of the loopholes for non-doms,” Business Secretary Peter Kyle told Sky News on Monday. Asked if he acknowledged that people quitting the UK was in part due to the government’s tax choices, Kyle said: “I do.”
