The California legislature passed a bill Thursday that confirms the looming expiration of a property tax break for solar power projects that’s been on the books since 1980.
The bill, S.B. 710, initially continued the solar program, but with more limiting conditions. Revisions killed that proposal, reverting the program back to its original sunset date of Jan. 1, 2027.
The bill passed the Assembly 77-0 on Tuesday, before gaining final approval by the state Senate on Thursday. The Senate previously passed the bill 39-0 in June. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has until Oct. 12 to sign or veto ...
