Denver Couple’s Fraud Convictions Upheld After Joint Trial

A Denver couple who tried to blame each other for scheme to steal millions from defense contractor National Air Cargo using phony invoices lost their appeals Monday to undo their convictions.

Michael and Kimberley Tew, whose separate appeals were consolidated, claimed their trials should have been severed. But Kimberley waived her severance argument, and Michael’s mid-trial motion for severance came too late, the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit said.
