Georgia Considers Options for Eliminating Personal Income Tax

A campaign to zero out Georgia’s personal income tax kicked off with testimony from a champion of the anti-tax movement Tuesday, but lawmakers reached no conclusions on how to replace the $16.2 billion the state collected from the tax last year.

Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, the sole witness appearing before the Senate Special Committee on Eliminating Georgia’s Income Tax, said Georgia is currently at a competitive disadvantage compared to its neighbors.
