California Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed a measure that would have exempted hydrogen fuel from the state’s sales and use taxes.
The bill, S.B. 419, initially passed the state senate 36-0 in June and passed the assembly 70-0 in September. But Newsom (D) said the measure should have been passed as part of the budget given its potential impact on the general fund.
