QuikTrip’s Constitutional Fight Over Missouri City’s Tax Tossed

QuikTrip Corp. can’t bypass the administrative proceedings it initiated over a St. Louis suburb’s tourism tax in order to get a court to declare it unconstitutional, a Missouri appeals court ruled.

The Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, on Tuesday rejected the gas station chain’s judicial challenge to St. Charles’ decision to retroactively impose a 40-year-old tax on prepared food for the first time in 2023.
