A low-income housing development in a city southwest of San Antonio qualifies for a property tax exemption because it properly sought input from potential residents about design and siting, a Texas appeals court affirmed.
The Texas Court of Appeals, Eighth District, ruled Monday that the Frio County Appraisal District failed to prove the development didn’t meet the exemption’s requirement that developers have a formal policy for giving notice and receiving feedback from nearby low-income households about how the affordable housing project would be designed, located, and managed.
