Catholic Groups, Two States Escape EEOC Pregnancy Bias Rule (2)

A Louisiana federal judge agreed to block enforcement of the EEOC’s new pregnancy bias regulation that provides workplace accommodations for abortions against a group of Catholic organizations and the states of Louisiana and Mississippi.

The ruling Monday from Judge David C. Joseph of the US District Court for the Western District of Louisiana prevents the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from enforcing its abortion accommodation mandate against the plaintiffs in the two consolidated cases just hours before it was scheduled to take effect nationwide on June 18.
