GOP Election Gains Create Winners and Losers in 2025 Tax Revamp

Donald Trump’s re-election and the growing prospect of unified GOP control in the House and Senate has shifted the likely winners and losers for when Congress debates a tax code overhaul next year.

The GOP 2017 tax law—passed with no votes from Democrats—skewed benefits toward the wealthy and corporations. With many of the law’s provisions expiring at the end of 2025, Republicans will have to decide what to extend or shelve.
