OECD Deal Cheered By GOP Tax Writers
GOP tax writers cheered the news that international negotiators at the OECD reached a deal to exempt US companies from key provisions of the global minimum tax, though lawmakers also warned of consequences for countries that are slow to implement the agreement.
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development released a document Monday detailing the terms of the agreement. The deal has five components, including a series of simplification measures to reduce compliance burdens on multinational companies and the treatment of tax incentives, according to an OECD press release.
