Gas Tax Freeze Gets Renewed GOP Backing
Republican leaders—including Sen. John Cornyn (Texas), House Speaker Mike Johnson (La.), and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (S.D.)—now say they are open to considering a temporary federal gas tax holiday to bring down gas prices after President Donald Trump earlier this week said he wanted to suspend the levy, Macon Atkinson and Caitlin Reilly report.
