Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith has named a new leader following the exodus of more than 100 lawyers from the Los Angeles-founded law firm.
Gregory Katz has been elected the firm’s managing partner, Lewis Brisbois announced late Tuesday. The Manhattan lawyer and 13-year Lewis Brisbois veteran leads the firm’s general liability and transportation practices.
Katz’s ascension comes after Bob Lewis, the firm’s co-founder and longtime chair, stepped down from his leadership role earlier this month. Lewis Brisbois also disbanded its executive committee in the wake of the mass departure of attorneys, primarily from its California-based labor and employment group.
