The OECD is working on guidance this year that would aim to prevent companies from abusing new global minimum tax rules, a top official said.
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is developing “integrity measures” within the global minimum tax guidance, said John Peterson, head of division for cross border and international taxation at the OECD.
That work will take an “omnibus” approach that will address potential issues evolving from safe harbor use, including the potential for arbitrage between various regimes as well as companies restructuring operations to take them “outside the scope of the rules,” Peterson said. ...
