Poland’s new President Karol Nawrocki announced plans to cut taxes for families with children, piling pressure on the country’s bloated budget and setting the stage for another clash with the government.
The head of state said on Friday that he intends to file a bill to parliament that would eliminate personal income taxes for parents with at least two children, up to an annual income of 140,000 zloty ($38,400). The proposal, which was one of Nawrocki’s campaign promises, is also aimed at boosting birth rates, he said.
