DC Tax Filing Season Gets Complicated
Filing season in Washington, DC, could be headed toward uncharted territory.
The typically mundane and predictable annual exercise for district residents has been knocked off-kilter this year after the US Senate voted on Feb. 12 to force a rollback of the city-passed tax law decoupling from the GOP’s 2025 tax-and-spending law. District officials so far maintain that the Senate’s vote came outside the window it has to intervene in city affairs, setting up what could become a fierce legal battle.
