New York City and the Northeast will get a shallow blanket of snow from two slow moving waves of precipitation that have already lead to more than 100 flights being canceled at regional airports.
As much as 5 inches (13 centimeters) of snow may fall through midnight in New York, across Long Island and around the Tri-State Area, the National Weather Service said in winter weather advisory.
