Samsung Seeks New Trial in $78 Million Loss, Citing Axed Patent

Samsung Electronics Co. argued a new jury trial is warranted after Anonymous Media Research Holdings LLC’s $78.5 million verdict victory in Texas because one of the underlying asserted patents was found invalid by a California federal judge days before the proceedings.

Judge Vince Chhabria of the Northern District of California determined on Sept. 12 that US Patent No. 10,719,848 was invalid in a separate dispute, according to the motion filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
