Virginia Redistricting Plan Blocked

The Virginia Supreme Court blocked state officials from using the new congressional map that voters approved last month and ordered that an earlier map be used in this year’s midterm elections, Zoe Tillman reports. The court said the state legislature’s process for pursuing the new map violated Virginia’s Constitution.

President Donald Trump applauded the decision in an online post. Democratic state officials could next ask the US Supreme Court to intervene on an emergency basis. Read More
