The deal, filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, allows certain California patients who were denied coverage for fertility treatments to receive payments that could be more than $11,400 each, depending on how many people become entitled to payments. It also requires Aetna to implement a nationwide policy expanding coverage for intrauterine and intracervical insemination treatments.
