A federal New Jersey court paused hundreds of surprise medical billing cases as providers retool their complaints against health insurers they allege aren’t paying arbitration awards.
The provider plaintiffs in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey are seeking to recoup the funds through the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and claims of unjust enrichment after the court repeatedly found the doctors lacked standing to sue under the No Surprises Act.
