Advanced practice clinicians, including nurse practitioners and nurse midwives, are suing Arizona to invalidate provisions that prohibit them from performing abortions.
Arizona voters approved a constitutional amendment legalizing abortion in 2024, prohibiting the state from enacting, adopting, or enforcing any law, regulation, policy, or practice that restricts the right to end a pregnancy before viability, absent a compelling state interest, the practitioners said in a complaint filed in the Arizona Superior Court for Maricopa County Wednesday.
