Chemours, Olin Urge EPA to Relax Feedstock Chemical’s Limit

Chemical manufacturers are asking the EPA to ease a workplace exposure limit it set last year for carbon tetrachloride lest the US lose its ability to make refrigerants with low global warming potential.

The Chemours Co., Olin Corp., and the American Chemistry Council (ACC) trade association told the Environmental Protection Agency it must increase from 0.03 parts per million (ppm) to 1.5 ppm its existing chemical exposure limit (ECEL).
