A Massachusetts federal court dismissed a Babson College freshman’s challenge to the government’s deportation of her, because she didn’t return to the US from Honduras.
Judge Richard G. Stearns of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts March 6 dismissed Any Lucia Lopez Belloza’s legal challenge for lack of jurisdiction. “The sad truth,” Stearns said in a docket entry, “is that when Any declined the flight she also waived this court’s only remaining basis for jurisdiction.” Lopez Belloza has appealed to the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
