The Environmental Protection Agency once again failed to end a lawsuit brought by Flint, Mich., residents alleging the federal regulator unlawfully ignored evidence of lead water poisoning.
The Federal Tort Claims Act claims brought by several plaintiffs after 2018 weren’t late, because they’re based on an EPA inspector general’s report that came out the same year outlining the government’s alleged negligence in protecting Flint residents from lead-contaminated water, according to a Monday opinion by the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
