EPA Gives More Industries Added Time to Comply With Solvent Rule

The EPA is giving certain industries that use and release a harmful solvent, trichloroethylene, more time before they have to comply with a 2024 regulation that banned the chemical.

The Environmental Protection Agency also will give companies more time to let their customers know about restrictions the agency has placed on the solvent, because the supply chain needs to understand restrictions the agency has placed on trichloroethylene (TCE), the EPA said in an interim final rule released on Friday.
