The EPA on Monday unveiled a new approach to more quickly clean up lead at contaminated sites, updating guidance from the Biden administration that it said slowed efforts.
The refreshed guidance and processes are meant to protect children from mental and physical developmental disorders, and adults from increased blood pressure, heart disease, decreased kidney function, and cancer, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The changes are needed to clear up confusion created by the Biden administration, the EPA said.
