Ex-Cox CEO Seeks to Move Trustee’s $190 Million Suit to Texas

A former executive of bankrupt offshore oil producer Cox Operating LLC asked a Louisiana court to transfer to Texas a trustee’s lawsuit accusing him and others of improper transactions.

The alleged transfers and the company’s bankruptcy occurred in Texas, and the trustee practices in Houston, former Cox president and CEO Craig Sanders said in a Tuesday motion filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana seeking transfer to the Southern District of Texas.

Sanders said the trustee previously noted in an amended complaint that he “may file a virtually identical proceeding” in Texas for procedural reasons. ...
