The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved an order Thursday seeking more transparency from New England transmission owners on upgrade and maintenance projects, part of an effort to encourage better grid planning as the US faces increasing energy demand.
“This is a positive step forward, and I encourage transmission owners to take the initiative to be more responsive to customers’ information needs,” Democratic Commissioner Judy Chang said during FERC’s September meeting.
