A federal judge pressed the Trump administration Tuesday on its handling of a national program to expand electric-vehicle charging that the Department of Transportation temporarily halted last year, focusing on revised program guidance the agency later released.
Roughly 20 states sued the department in May following its suspension of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program, a $5 billion effort funded by the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law to boost infrastructure for EVs. District Judge Tana Lin blocked the move in a June order where she ruled the administration went beyond its authority in halting the program.
