Mexico Eyeing Cuts to Taxes to Offset Gasoline Price Spike

Mexico could cut an excise tax on gasoline in order to offset higher global prices, President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Monday.

  • Sheinbaum said during her daily press briefing that she was meeting with Finance Minister Edgar Amador later Monday to discuss the spike in gasoline prices
  • Sheinbaum said Mexico had turned to tax cuts in the past to shield Mexican consumers and would evaluate taking measures
