Michigan Targets Oil Companies With Antitrust Laws Over Prices

Oil majors have colluded for decades to undermine the renewable energy movement to sell more fossil fuels, raising energy costs for consumers, according to a climate tort suit brought by Michigan.

BP PLC, Chevron Corp., Exxon Mobil Corp., Shell PLC, and the American Petroleum Institute engaged in a “conspiracy” to delay the clean energy transition, according to the lawsuit filed by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.
