Environmental Coalitions Add to Trump Water Rule Legal Woes (2)

Two separate coalitions of environmental, conservation, and wildlife groups sued the Trump administration Wednesday over the revamped definition of the waters of the U.S. rule.

In lawsuits filed separately in U.S. district courts in Massachusetts and South Carolina, the advocacy groups added to the slate of lawsuits challenging regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The two agencies repealed and replaced a 2015 Obama-era rule defining the waters of the U.S., or WOTUS, with the Navigable Water Protection Rule (RIN: 2040-AF75), published last week. These groups claim that the rule violates the ...
