Court Extends Block on Arizona Land Transfer for Copper Mine (3)

Conservation and tribal groups were successful in their bid to further delay the transfer of public land for a copper mine in Arizona after the Ninth Circuit issued an emergency administrative injunction.

The appeals court on Monday issued a temporary order blocking the Trump administration from handing Oak Flat—a sacred tribal site—over to Resolution Copper, the subsidiary of multinational mining companies Rio Tinto Group and BHP Group.
