Political Blame Game Erupts Over Furlough of Nuclear Employees

Lawmakers are questioning why the Trump administration chose to furlough 1,400 nuclear security employees across the country instead of categorizing them as essential workers during the government shutdown.

“They are playing politics, there’s no doubt about it,” Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) said of the Trump administration. “They are trying to put pressure on senators.”
