Senators Want Brisk, Predictable EPA Reviews of New Chemicals

The EPA needs to decide whether new chemicals can be made using a prompt, predictable, thorough, and transparent review process, senators and witnesses said during a Thursday hearing.

“I’m concerned about the pace and predictability of the new chemicals process,” Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W. Va.), chairman of the Senate’s Environment and Public Works Committee, said during a subcommittee hearing on the beneficial use and regulation of chemicals.
