Starbucks Taps TelevisaUnivision Law Head to Lead Legal Team (1)

Starbucks Corp. has hired top TelevisaUnivision Inc. lawyer Pilar Ramos to lead its legal department, replacing Brad Lerman, who’s spent about two-and-a-half years in the job.

CEO Brian Niccol said in a memo late Tuesday that Ramos would “provide advice on a wide range of strategic and operational matters” as she takes over the chief legal officer role in a revamped Starbucks C-suite.

Starbucks is closing stores and cutting about 900 jobs as part of a turnaround plan. It has dangled stock grants as incentives to executives who assist Niccol’s cost-cutting proposals. The company didn’t immediately ...
