California, New Mexico, Colorado, and Washington are urging the Bureau of Land Management to drop environmental review exclusions for several types of logging projects on federal land.
The BLM is proposing to exempt logging projects from environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act, the states said in comment letters filed by their attorneys general and published Thursday.
