Transgender and nonbinary workers at the EEOC have faced discrimination because of their gender identity since Republican Andrea Lucas became the agency’s acting chair, according to a new complaint filed by a former commission employee.
Marc Seawright, who is transgender, cited actions initiated by Lucas including limited enforcement of transgender bias claims under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as well as internal policy changes that negatively impact LGBTQ+ employees.
