Ukraine has selected a US-linked consortium to develop a lithium deposit in the central Kirovohrad region, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said Monday.
Dobra Lithium Holdings JV, LLC, a venture between Techmet Ltd. and The Rock Holdings, was selected for the pilot project, which will be conducted as a production-sharing agreement, according to Svyrydenko.
Techmet counts as a major shareholder the US International Development Finance Corp., a government investment agency set up during President Donald Trump’s first term. The investor group includes billionaire Ronald Lauder, the New York Times reported last week.
