Republican Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chair Laura Swett gave a nod to the EPA’s move to rescind the endangerment finding during the commission’s monthly meeting Thursday, while praising the energy regulator’s own efforts to deregulate.
Swett noted the effects of the repeal are uncertain, especially as the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision has already provoked litigation from conservation and public health groups.
“FERC staff is working hard on reviewing what potential implications this may have on FERC processes, but like everyone else, we’re awaiting the final action, and that includes any court action that may follow it,” Swett said.
