US Offers 30 Million Barrels in Crude Oil Exchange From Reserve

The Energy Department of offering as much as 30 million barrels of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as part of an exchange, the agency said in a statement Thursday.

  • Sweet crude oil will originate from the reserve’s West Hackberry site
  • Bids for solicitation are due no later than 11am CT April 13
  • Oil is being offered on terms where the DOE loans crude in exchange for return of oil, plus additional barrels
