Veteran Republican Operative to Lead Federal Permitting Office

A veteran Republican policy adviser is taking leadership of a federal office charged with making environmental permits move faster, according to the agency.

As executive director of the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council, Emily Domenech will lead an agency that the Trump administration sees as an important tool for nudging large developments—including mining, transportation, data storage and management, and artificial intelligence projects—through the permitting bureaucracy.
