The US Fish and Wildlife Service has failed to make a required finding on whether to protect the gray cat’s eye plant under the Endangered Species Act, a new lawsuit says.
The agency violated the Endangered Species Act by failing to publish a timely 90-day finding on whether listing the rare flower, which is found exclusively on sand dunes along the Columbia River in central Washington, as threatened or endangered may be warranted, the Center for Biological Diversity alleges in a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Arizona.
