California actors and musical artists will gain more protections over their digital likeness after Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Tuesday signed legislation that will strengthen their contractual rights with entertainment companies.
The new law (AB 2602) would implement new legal safeguards for performers when contracts give studios and others the right to use digital replicas of their voices and likenesses.
