The US Labor Department will no longer enforce a Biden-era regulation granting workplace organizing protections for foreign farmworkers on seasonal H-2A visas.
“The decision provides much-needed clarity for American farmers navigating the H-2A program, while also aligning with President Trump’s ongoing commitment to strictly enforcing U.S. immigration laws,” the agency said Friday.
The measure was finalized in 2024 to bolster the ability of H-2A farmworkers to advocate for better working conditions on the job.
