A woman who worked as an aide for Michigan congressman Shri Thanedar can’t continue pursuing her age discrimination case against the representative’s office due to “ongoing personal hardships,” she told a federal court.
Judge Jonathan J.C. Grey granted Valeria Berry’s motion to voluntarily dismiss the case without prejudice, according to a filing Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Berry’s Aug. 29 notice disclosed she was unable to proceed with the litigation due to difficulties, “including homelessness and unemployment.”
