Matt Caldwell still remembers the number: 2,767. That was the number of season ticket holders for the Florida Panthers NHL team after he took over as chief executive officer some nine years ago.
Caldwell, a 45-year-old West Point alum who worked at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. for nearly four years after serving in the military, started at the Panthers in 2014 as chief operating officer.
