Hilton Ditches the Term ‘ESG’ in Annual Report to Investors (1)

Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. has cut its use of the acronym ESG, which stands for environmental, social and governance, in its annual report to investors.

In its 10-K report filed on Friday, the hotel chain didn’t use the term ESG for its goals or programs, instead replacing the term with ‘corporate responsibility,’ ‘sustainability,’ or a reference to its ‘Travel with Purpose’ program. There were 23 references to the acronym in last year’s report; none this year.

Last year’s report also specified that its ESG goals—including “aiming toward a net zero future”—had a 2030 target in several places. There is no ...
